The easy solution for your prototyping needs
The new mainboard FFP Basic+ puts an enhanced standard to develop high sophisticated solutions in research and development. With the FFP Basic+ board the well-proven FFP building set is adapted to the modern challenge in prototyping.
FFP - Fast Flexible Prototyping - offers a new solution to develop designs with highest requirements concerning complexity and speed.
The FFP Basic+ consists of the newest generation of Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA containing up to 850000 logic cells in 4 Virtex-5 devices offering up to 1434 user configurable I/Os.
Six extension slots can mount Add-on boards and offer a great variety of interfaces.

- 2 Samtec QTS 075 backplane connector with 132 signals each (up to 2 GHz)

- 4 bidirectional GTP lanes terminated at MMCX plugs
- 4 PCI Express lanes terminated at MMCX plugs
- 3 1000 Base T Ethernet ports
- 2 USB 2.0 ports
- 3 integrated PLL up to 500 MHz
- 8M * 18Bit / QDRII RAM
- MMC memory card FAT formatted for board configuration

You can program all FPGAs and Add-on modules by a control unit in an easy way from a PC over an USB interface or from the on board MMC card. Different configurations can be stored easily on that MMC card.
The control unit offers a Hardware-in-the-Loop interface that enables the FFP Basic+ as a real time simulation component.
The FFP Basic+ is equipped with four Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA. To get maximum amount of logic resources as well as DSP processing units the biggest Virtex-5 chips are used.
To expand memory resources additional 18 MB QDR II RAM is integrated.
Highspeed applications like video streaming between the FFP Basic+ and external PCs can be realised via the two Gigabit Ethernet or the USB 2.0 interfaces.
For other high speed connections 4 lanes GTP and 4 lanes PCI Express are provided.
The whole board is powered by a single 5V DC supply voltage, only.
You can mate up to six Add-on boards by high speed connectors and therefore will be able to construct prototype systems and demonstrators for different applications like wireless, radar or digital imaging.
