FPGA Design: RF on Chip

IAF is developing hardware with Xilinx’s new RFSoC devices from the Zynq Ultrascale+ product family. In addition to FPGA logic and ARM processor cores, the modules also contain up to eight analog / digital and digital / analog converters. With sampling rates of up to 6 GSPS, very broadband signals can be processed. The direct baseband to RF conversion is possible due to the large analog bandwidth.

The components open up far-reaching possibilities for the design of highly integrated broadband communication systems, which are required for 5G mobile radio or the new cable standard Docsis 3.1.
