Multi-channel data acquisition and processing

FPGA: Artix-7
Application: Multi-channel data acquisition and processing

The multi-channel acquisition board serves the measurement and data-processing of up to 10 channels over a wide frequency range. The FPGA-based signal processing enables the detection (triggering) of characteristic signal changes, e.g. through adapted filter design. The fast DDR3 memory allows synchronous, seamless simultaneous recording of all channels up to a data rate of 1.2 GByte/s. The stored and pre-processed data can be transferred via USB for subsequent computer-aided analysis. By means of GPS-supported synchronisation, signal location can also be operated when using several boards in the same measurement environment. Individual adjustments of the configuration to the respective measurement scenario can be made at any time via USB.

The assembly contains the following main components:

  • Xilinx Artix FPGA (XC7A100T)
  • 8 × ADC 12 bit with 50 MSPS (LTC2268)
  •  2 × ADC 12 bit with 125 MSPS (AD9273)
  • UHF downconverter (RFFC2071)
  • E-field sensor
  • Temperature/humidity sensor
  • 256 MB DDR3
  • uBlox GPS (synchronisation)
  •  FTDI USB 2.0 (FT2232)
